Plans are underway to create an Arts Neighborhood -- a cluster of new buildings that will transform part of the campus into a vibrant arts destination. This new neighborhood will feature a three-building complex that will provide studio and performance space for the Lewis Center for the Arts and the Department of Music. Interconnected buildings, clustered around a bustling plaza, are designed to foster creative collaboration among faculty and students in different programs. As a whole, the complex is intended to encourage the unexpected encounters with the arts that can take a project -- or even a life -- in an entirely new direction.
“We envision a new architecture which might act as an instrument to bring different disciplines together.”
