This group of early- to mid-career artists -- the first of whom will arrive on campus in the fall of 2013 -- will create, exhibit, and perform their work; teach undergraduates; and participate in seminars and conferences, infusing the campus with artistic energy and fresh insights. A challenge grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and a matching gift from an anonymous alumnus were instrumental in launching the program, a key part of the initiative to make the arts central to the Princeton undergraduate experience.
“These fellowships will enrich the entire Princeton community by bringing to campus emerging artists who have begun to be recognized in their fields for their achievement and their potential for growth.”
—Michael Cadden, senior lecturer in theater and chair of the Lewis Center for the Arts
