The Center for Theoretical Science

An anonymous gift endowed this center, which explores ideas in the natural sciences and promotes interaction among researchers. It is home to a corps of exceptional postdoctoral fellows, chosen each year in an international search. They work closely with faculty members and distinguished visitors on boundary-crossing topics, from the seismology of the earth to the detection of dark matter.

Theoretical Science

“We want to bring together our most talented theorists on campus — faculty, postdocs, graduate students, and undergrads — together with leading scientists worldwide to identify and attack the most exciting problems across the natural sciences.”

—Paul Steinhardt, the Albert Einstein Professor in Science and director of the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science
